It is important to learn about lift truck fundamentals, including components and their functions, in order to reduce risks to people, products, and property. Other topics covered include the principles of balance, stability, and capacity; the importance of a pre-operational inspection; and the procedures for completing both a visual and operational inspection. You will also learn how to safely enter, exit, and operate lift trucks, as well as how to operate them around pedestrians. Finally, guidelines for parking a lift truck and safe methods for picking up, moving, and deploying loads are covered.
